Unhappy Newbie needs help - downloaded video won't play!

I posted this in the tips and tricks section but just realised this is a better area....

I'm a limewire new recruit - thought I'd try downloading a movie. Successfully (I think) downloaded full movie. It's there in my library (The Incredibles full, 129.6MB avi file) but when I double click to view, it launches Quicktime Player but the screen stays blank. I'm viewing on a Mac ibook G4 with Mac 0SX if that makes any difference? What am I doing wrong? Please help someone. Thanks. x

Basic QT has some playback limitations. Try VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Select the file within the finder, CMD+I & go to Open with... Select VLC. This will make VLC the default to play these files.

Highlight the file in the finder, then use your Apple key (also known as your Command key) whilst at the same time holding down the i Key. That gives you the information to that file. You can do it manually by going to menu bar & selecting Get Info...
