Unhappy Can't upload - tried everything

As this is peer to peer, I would like to offer upload files to others on the network. I have followed all the advice and still no upload.

The bug report example includes:
"Received incoming this session: false
Number of shared files: 77
Guess capable: false
Received solicited UDP: true"

I run Windows XP with Norton Security.

- Windows Firewall is OFF.
- I registered javaw.exe with full permisssion under Norton.
- I have now even turned off the Norton firewall (which I am not happy about and will only be temporary...)
- I have made sure that under Windows network sharing ( I have small Windows network), the shared files folder is configured as shared.

What else can I do?

You shouldn't need to turn all your firewalls off, just configuer them so LW & Java have access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml & Norton at the bottom of that page. An alternative instruction for Norton is: Configuring Norton Internet Security

What might be an issue is your connection devices. Many high speed modems/routers use a type of internal firewall. There's a few types but most common is NAT. Which means you would need to forward a port (open a port) to allow LW access. (If you were using high end games or video conferencing you'd need to open many ports.) The fact you're using a LAN suggests you probably do use a router.
Can you tell us your Modem & router brand name & model numbers?

You will need to forward a port. Use Port 6346 1st you will need to set up a static ip. I'm not sure which model applies to you 624 or 624+ so I've provided both instructions: Step 1:
(a) Setting up a Static IP Address with the Dlink DI-624 OR Setting up a Static IP Address with the Dlink DI-624+

(b) Port Forwarding for the Dlink DI-624
OR Port Forwarding for the Dlink DI-624+

2. Force IP within LW: Force IP instructions & sample image

This should do the job. I use a d-link modem router which I must reboot after those changes but I don't know about your model.. But don't forget to save your settings anyway.
