Downloaded Downloads Starting From Zero?!?!?

Hi everyone, newbie here with Limewire.. its been about 4 days now since i D/Led it.. so far ive been pretty happy with it, everything seems to be going great except for one thing that i cant not figure out and that is.... everytime i D/L a file and it D/L's a big amount of percentage and i Disconnect from L/W cause of Computer Freezing up or i Restart my computer for whatever reasons... and i open up L/W again after i restarted to use it and restart my D/L's.. ive noticed that the files that had already D/Led a large amount of percentage all of a sudden are started back from Zero again and not Restarting D/L from the last place it left off... i would like to know why this is happening?? and if they're is anything i can do to fix it?? i find it very irritating when that happens, cause it shoulnt.. all other Filesharing Programs ive used in the past, that never used to happen.... so i would like to know if its something i did wrong, or what exactly? so if anyone here can give me an answer & pls help me out with this i would really appreciate it alot... thnk you.

This is a related problem: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=31170

To stop your comp freezing (Hope you have plenty of ram) make sure your Java is up to date (LW only installs Java 1.3 but a later version is better): http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...radejava.shtml

Also go to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs & click on Limewire on the Change/Remove button & it comes up with options and one of them is Repair. Try this.

One other trick is Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and change compatability setting to Windows 2000

Hi, LOTR... thanks for you're response.. sofar i followed what you said, but where you say "One other trick is Right-clicking the Limewire icon and going to properties and change compatability setting to Windows 2000 " i did just that, but didnt see no button or option, to change compatability to Windows 2000. incase you dont know it yet, i use Windows ME... so just wanted to clear that up.. and see what i need to do to finish that last step?? please get back and let me know, thanks.

My apologies. Ignore that last step!

If you'e stil having problems (with any luck not), whilst LW is closed, delete your LW Prefs called .limewire & found here for ME: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\My Documents"
But if yu have any special settings it might be wise to make a note of them 1st b/c once you delete the prefs you'll need to reset them.
