Where are the songs I'm d/l going?

I really am new to this plus I'm old so please bear with me.

The default setting for where songs are downloaded to is Shared Documents. I d/l a song and checked the shared docs and it wasnt listed there. I changed the default to My Music, downloaded a song or two, went to MY Music and the songs arent listed there.

Here are my questions. Why arent the songs Im downloading showin up in My Music? If I use the default location for d/l's (Shared Documents) what does that mean? Like, does it mean they are shared with people who use my computer or people on the internet?


I'm so confused and havent even started the process of transfering the songs to the MP3 player.

Any help or basics you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
