Download Taking Too Long I have been using 4.2.6. Pro for (3) months without any problem. For about a week when I try to download an audio file, it sits at connecting for a while and when it starts to download the time slowly start getting longer until it stops downloading. I have searched FAQ & Forums. I have uninstalled AOL 9.0. disabled McAfee firewall, have setup Gnutella I P address. Nothing seams to help the problem? I am using XP and DSL This is my first time to post a thread, I would sure appreciate anyones help Thanks JB |
Finding new sources can help. Occasionally do the search again. You can select it to re-do the search by right-clicking any file in the search results & selecting Repeat Search. Update your Java so LW runs a little more efficiently: Java 1.5 (take the JRE) After you open LW, wait until it settles down befoe doing searches. Depending on how many incomplete files & shared files you have this can take some time. Here's some hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities. |
Just try uping the amount of bandwidth LW uses. To do this open LW, go to Tools, Options, and click on downloads, move the meter so it reads 100%, that makes the speed of downloads unlimited. And look at other questions posted before posting one dude, I've answered the same question like 4 times now. |
