100% upload failure using limewire pro 4.2.6 yes i have the port on my router forwarded (and i have changed that number also to make sure its not the issue). i have also tested it to make sure it is correctly forwarded and functioning properly. force ip, check not one single time has some one tried to upload from me and it work. it immediatly goes to transfer interrupted before it even connects. |
After LW's been open for at least 30 mins or more do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is it True/False? What devices are you using? You configured your firewalls? http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml Which Operating Sytem are you using? Sometimes isp providers if even just partially block p2p use. This is a recent example. |

i also ran this test http://www.freeridesouth.com/craig/socketdrv.html and it verified that the port im using with limewire is correctly opened. i also use azureus (torrents), kazaa lite, winmx, etc, and have 0 problems sharing with these programs and i am using windows xp sp1 (no firewall on the connection, or sp2 firewall. im 150% a firewall is not the culprit here) i will try the test you said and report back. |

That's got me. Your incoming report being true is good. But! Why that's happening? You haven't had any issues with your other p2p apps for uploading! That's odd! May I ask who your isp is? |

If you have the time, you should be calling Cox. Explaining that your problem is on their end, and has to do with Gnutella traffic. Ask them if they are using traffic filter like Sandvine. If the person at Cox isn't aware or doesn't understand ask the person to talk with its superior or someone in the know. If the problem is on their end, they should be able to exclude you from their Gnutella filter. The key there is to be persuasive AND patient. Bonne chance :D |

the problem is though, this issue only exists with limewire. ive used countless other p2p programs with out upload issues. (including recently, shareaza, and in the past, bearshare... both on the gnutella network) Quote:

In a link within the link (particularly the google results) you'll see at least one of those articles mentions that it doesn't seem to apply to all p2p apps. And it apparently doesn't seem to affect everybody within a particular area. So ... I could only guess they've determined you're using LW the most & have applied the breaks on uploading from LW. Follow et voilą's advice. |
i just started using limewire a few days ago and it did this from the first time i opened the program. |
The problem is that I have never heard of a similar situation. I doubt this is a problem in Limewire or in Java, but you could always try to download java 1.5 and downgrade LW to a prior version http://www9.limewire.com:82/download/ . If that combo doesn't work and Cox tell you everything should be working, that might be an issue with your specific machine. In that case stick to P2P that works for you :p |
every thing works just fine, i can dl any thing i want. i just feel bad leeching and not being able to share :( |
Ya that sucks, what are your uploads setting in tools -> options -> transfers -> basic and places ? Hope you don't have a 0 in places .... that would elimintate transfers... you could always play with those settings to see if it helps. |
i have my upload limit set to 35kb/s side note: ive had limewire on all night and a few uploads have actually gone through! but its a very small number. like 1/100 attempts. |
transfer interrupted I have the very same problem. Downloading all I want, but every single UL attempte get the message 'transfer interrupted'. I also have COX and a router firewall. I do have XP firewall, but I've indicated to allow access for Limewire, (I suspect I would have trouble downloading otherwise). Like you, I feel bad that I can't share effectively. I have over 2000 file to share! If anybody has a relatively painless solution, I'm all ears. Dan |
dpierret: This might not affect you b/c they only seem to apply it to some individuals, but Cox are known to slow speeds for p2p users: ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire |
