Firewall blocks uploads?

How can I set up my firewall so people can upload from me. As of now if I leave my firewall on I get no uploads. If I disable it I start seeing uploads begin. Any suggestions.

Instructions on how to allow LW access thru the most common firewalls is here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml Which firewalls do you have?

But if you have a high-speed modem/router wich has an internal NAT firewall then forwarding a port (6346 for LW) might also be necessary (opening a single port.)

What brand & model of modem/router do you use?

I followed those instuctions and chose permit all for javaw.exe
a few weeks ago but it didn't seem to fix the problem.

I'm using Norton internet security 2004

Motorola modem Cable

I'm kinda new to lime wire. Do you know what it means if I keep seeing transfer interupted in my upload section.

If it's frequent then it probably means that you are firewalled. Probably the only people who can access your files are using 'Push requests' to get thru your firewall. I had a similar situation after I moved from dial up to broadband & found my modem-router required port forwarding b/c it was firewalling everybody out! lol

There's too many people out there who don't realise they're not properly configured & behind softw or hardware firewalls.

We can help you allow LW access if you wish whilst still maintaining firewall protection for everything else.

After LW has been on for at least 20 mins do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image IS it True/False?

what version of LW are you using might help to upgrade to version 4.4 beta. I have norton internet security 2004 and am using LW 4.3.3. I plan on upgrading soon.

Greeting LotR Maybe you could put a link for him

Configuring Norton Internet Security I'm a bit slow this time of day. Thanks for the elbow Fabion. :D

Which model of Motorola are you using?

1st trick is this: Force IP instructions & sample image if you have a modem with a NAT firewall.
