When I search, nothing comes up When I first begin a search I wait, the limewire icon is spinning, but after the tab bar fills, nothing comes up in window below tab. What am I doing wrong. I have used limewire before at a DJ gig every saturday. I have never had problems like this before. |
I've started having that problem recently too. No solid answers yet. Are you restricting your search? I restrict to 3+ stars, cable modem or better. |
Am I misunderstanding something or are you failing to select what you want to downld & press the downld button? You need to select something before it will download. There's a chance you're only seeing the downld list pane of the window. Click the very, very small arrows on the window so yo ucan have both the search list & downld list in the same window. |
Nice try. ;) No, I know the diff. It (a Search) used to work well for me. EEDJ says it did for him, too. Something is different. |

I can't install JRE 1.5 on this machine - I'm doing developement that presupposes 1.4.2. I've never heard of a "Win2000 Compatibility mode". There's no such option on the shortcut properties, nor on the .exe properties. Where is it supposed to be? I'm running with Admin privileges. I'll try the folder delete sometime this weekend. |
Read the suggestions carefully. It can depend on which version windows you're using as to which options you can choose. You haven't told us yet. Which doesn't make it any easier. Right-click the Limewire Program icon & go to properties & change compatability setting to Windows 2000. By the way, Java 1.4.2 should be fine. |

EEDiscJockey under the the search, you may see 2 tiny arrows try pulling it down. This may be hiding your search results. DMF There is no reason to be rude or sarcastic to LotR all of us here are trying to help, but if we don't know or have the answer, all we can do is offer suggestions. It sounds like your problem may be associated with your other program. Just my thoughts. |
So, fabion, maybe you can tell me where this "Windows 2000 Compatibility" option is? This is my thrid request. If it's there and I need to set it, where the heck is it? |
That's strange for some reason my mouse doesn't have a right-click option. Wonder why that is. lol :D Is it my duty to remember every single detail about a particular user. If you make a new post in a new thread I take what info you have supplied in that thread. There's too many people visiting & posting on the forum to go & back track to all their previous posts to find their particular details if they bothered to include them in any case. I do go back & check some people's previous posts. But not all. Don't concern yourself about the win 2k mode. It's just one of those small tinkerings that can 'sometimes' makes a difference. It was a suggestion posted in the 'For those who can't connect ...' Sticky in the connections section. It worked for a reasonable no. of people. For posting: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/announ...?s=&forumid=29 (easily forgotten heh  ) |
No right mouse button. Well that explains a lot! :D:D Sorry for getting snippy. I just get frustrated when there's not enough information to know how to fix something. I'll go back to the other thread now and leave DJ to have his own problem. :p |
Who is your ISP? If it's Insight, I'm afraid you're SOL. Your problem is discussed at length in the following thread but nothing suggested helped me at all. Insight denies any culpability. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=32333 |
