Help!! .dat/.bak I can't download anything... Hi, I think I deleted those .dat and .bak files from my library. They were listed in red. Now none of my files will download! Most of the time it says 'Awaiting Sources' or 'Needs More Sources'. Do I have to add those red files back in? How do I do that, what do I do?! |
ouch--your incomplete downloads are no good once the .bak and .dat files are deleted (they contain the essential index of all the parts needed and partially completed). There is currently no way to reindex the partial files and rebuild the .dat, but I'll check. A few of the developers thought it might be possible in the future . . . . |
.dat Oh no! So I have to start all my downloads over again? And if I start downloading again, can I just make a new .dat? |
Just quit LimeWire and start up again. You don't have to create a new .dat file--it will be done automatically. Might be a good idea though to trash all those old incompletes first. |
no... No... I tried that, but it didn't seem to work... Where would the .dat file show up anyways? In incomplete files, right? |
