Movie Playback In Pieces

I have searched tons of the threads without finding an answer. Please someone help this newbie..movie plays back in mixed up pieces. I tried playing it in Real Player, DivX and Windows Media Player all had the same result. Have Windows XP, cable modem. I know they download in pieces but how do I get it back in one organized piece?
TIA!

Try VLC (free player with built in codecs) & plays everything except the odd wmv file (choose the nearest mirror site.) Its controls are not the best but it works with the most recent formats out - so it's effective! ;)

Check also you have the most recent codecs: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html (choose mirror2 link only!) or http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/

I downloaded VLC and used their player with the same result. I already had downloaded Power DVDSE and updated Windows Media Player to the latest version. When I downloaded the movie
I had not yet found this forum to configure my downloads to include only four star file sharers. How possible is it that is a bad download?

Here's good news! I have a movie downloaded that plays just fine. The format is AVI so at least I know that works.

WHich of your players did it play in fine? Did you only try it in one of them?

Movies Plays In Pieces

I played a part of a different movie, (not the fragmented one), in VLC. Have not tried the DivX, Real Player or Window Media Player but I will and will report back with results.

I am having the same problems with my movie files...have you found any solution to the problem?

By the way the four star reference above has mothing to do with quality of the file. It only signifies the chances of a successful download (ie: from good or multiple sources.)

IKaner: Try VLC & see how it goes. It has in-built codecs & all the most recent ones. Not the best of controls & not over-fancy but it does the job. It's also free.
