Unhappy slowing dowloads

when i first open limewire my downloads work and are fairly good but soon they slow down to zero...and i also have problems searching...after a bit online
i can only fix this by shuting down limewire and starting again but this still happens.

Greetings

After looking at the specs. you provided. It appears you are using up all your resources.

256 MB RAM, is on the borderline for min. sys requirements not only for LimeWire, but many of todays programs.

I am going to make some suggestions, which may help.
1) Defragement your HDD and do a Disk Clean up. I'm not exactly sure where these are located in windows98, but they are probably located in sys tools. I use a different windows OS.

d/l fewer songs at a time. This will reduce the amount of system resources needed to perform these tasks. Also do not use the force resume more than once if at all. A manual search is much better.

Also configure LimeWire for optimal performance. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...al+performance
