Angry tired of seeing "connecting"

Someone please help me! I am not a computer genius so please hit me with layments terms. Everytime I try to download it tells me it's connecting....but the little meter is no where to be found. The song never completes and it doesn't even matter if i just selected the song 5 seconds prior. I am clueless, as if that wasn't bad enough my portion of the search screen no longer displays titles. I know it says somthing because when I hold my curser over the area it tells what the blank spot should say.I'm running XP with DSL. the problem just started after 6 months of smooth sailing. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Angry tired of seeing "connecting"

I apologize. I read the newbie link befor I posted. I have given as much info as I can. The only thing I can think of that might help is that under my limewire icon on my desktop are the numbers 3.6.15. I have already done all the steps in the help manual under connecting. I am out of insight please help

Try updating your LimeWire to the latest version. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

It appears you are running an older version

I take it your not running NIS 2005

I'm having the same problem. I downloaded the newest version and it kept saying "connecting," so I uninstalled it, downloaded it again and it's doing the same thing. I'm running Windows XP with a cable internet connection. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!!

Well, it finally connected but it's running at about 10% the speed it used to and seems to lock up constantly. Is it my system?

Who is your internet service provider? Do they block or filter p2p programs that you know of.
