problems running new limewire i recently downloaded the new program and installed it. it worked wen i installed it but now it wont. i've tried to un-install and re-install it but that did no good either. i totoaly removed all limewire stuff from my computer and re downloaded it but still nothing. i am using Windows Xp and my firewall program is PC-Cillin. any help would be greatly appreciated. please let me know of any other info you may need to help address this issue. |

I don't know if this is related: http://www.broadbandreports.com/foru...7988~mode=flat You can specify incoming and outgoing ports for Exception List rules with PC-Cillin in two locations (eg: Port 6346.) And the manual suggests you disable XP Firewall. |

Oy, check this... I unsinstalled the J2SE Runtime Evironment crap then Limewire and turned off my Anti-Virus. That did it, when I next installed Limewire it worked fine. I think the J2SE was corrupted or something, because it gave me an error when I uninstalled it. Anyway, that's my story. And I removed the special "Gnutella" allowance for the port on my Home Portal Firewall. Seems I don't need it. |
