Default Modem stops working

I'm using LimeWire 4.8.1 and while I try to download some type of media, my modem stops working.
I'm using a cable modem, and the modem isn't disabled, it's still enabled and listed as on in my network, but aol/aim/msn/internet windows all say that I don't have a connection.
I have to un plug my modem and plug it in again and enable it again to get it back to work.

It does this with all my downloads. What could it be? How can I fix it?

Default

I also have problems with my connection. I can use LW fine at excellent quality, but somewhere down the line I lost complete connection with LW although my ISP runs great. I have tried adding the Gnutella to my network connection but AOL wont allow me to access their properties tab and I don't know what else to do to maintain an excellent connection.

Can someone guide me through a process to ensure that my PC has the correct connection between my ISP and LW for the best, uninterrupted connection?

Default I found a fix for my problem. I hope it works for you.

Hey enflamedphoenix and Cassigirl,

this hyperlink should take you to a website that should help you and your situation if it was anything like mine.

The only downfall to using this process for me was this, my incomplete uploads were made permanent. What I mean is that I was unable to resume previous uploads (like a movie that I was in the middle of downloading) because what this process basically does is wipes out limewire completely. It therefore gives you a new download and incomplete folder and therefore makes your old "incomplete" folder unable to resume previous uploads. It does however give you the previous great excellent connection you previously had along with instant and more uploading/downloading power.
