LAN/Router Question (Ping)
 

I am connected on a router to 3 computers in my house. When I set the upload meter to Unlimited it seems I get fantastic speeds for downloading. My problem is that when the upload is set to Unlimited (3 slots) the other computers on the router get horrible ping. When its set to the left side of the upload slider I get no download whatsoever and the dreaded Awaiting Sources for days or even weeks at at time but the ping on the other computers is steady and great. So what Im wondering is is there a place to put the uploads where I can actually get downloads going and at the same time not crowd up the router and cause aggravating ping. BTW ive read the upload/download threat already, so please dont post a million links to it. I have a cable modem with I believe 5mb a sec download/upload or whatever.

As you know from reading all those thousands of threads in Download/Upload Problems forum, following the forum rules helps people see if they can recognize your situation.

btw--you can leave the downloads set to unlimited, and restrict the upload bandwidth separately.
