All out/no in

When I check my connection status, I am a ultrapeer, excellent connection, with cable BB. I used to show 2 to 4 incoming connections, and +/-50 outgoing connections. Now I find I show no incoming connections, even while the download window shows downloads in progress. My download speeds seem about 30% slow. I've tried multiple restarts and dumping all connections. Is there a problem here or not? Also, how come on search results I can place the cursor on a title, and some show details in a pop-up, but some do not? Thanks...

Who is your Internet service provider?

What moden type and router do you use with model no. please.

Also LimeWire and Java versions.

Have you configured the firewall to allow full access to LW?

Have a good day.

2 things to try:

1. Also reduce your incomplete list of files; instructions here: reduce incomplete files on download list (click on link)

2. Delete your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

d'load speed better, but...

OK, recovered some d'load speed following "L of the R" advice. But I still do not show any incoming connections in the connection status window. Where are my d'loads coming from??Excellent status, 24 peers, 0 leaf/connect/standard.

Greetings mannshands

Your d/l are coming from other users u/l. You get these from the search results.

From what I understand of LimeWire the incoming and outgoing connection status doesn't mean a great deal for the average user. It just shows how you are connected to the "G" network.
Your search query goes through these connections, whether incoming or outgoing.

After LimeWire stabilizes you may even get more connections, since from your connection status you are acting as an Ultrapeer. You may get as many as 30 Peer and 30 Leaf connections

Hope this helped, and have a good day

Hi, Guess I don't need to see IC's as long as I can see status of file dloads. BTW Getting total DL speeds of 1.5M (!) since I started running BearShare simultaneously. Go figure. BS is DLing at only 150kbts(small b). But i ain't complaining. Thanks.

Follow up

Downloading fine. But no uploads? Status:ultrapeer, 22 peers, o leaves, 0 connecting, o standard. Connected for several hours. I am sharing some very popular files, at least they were popular b4 I fixed the Dload prob. Kinda feel like a leach if I don't sort this out.

Not at all. If you're acting as an ultrapeer then that's just as good as sharing lots of files & is definitely not leeching. By being a UP you're helping others.
