Computer crashed. Downloads resetted.

Okay, I was playing this game, while running LimeWire in the background.

Well, this game crashed, and for some reason, my computer restarted. The game has crashed before, but nothing happened to my downloads. This time though, when I restarted, and turned on my LimeWire, it said that it couldn't resume my downloads, and that they were lost or something like that.

I went into my incomplete folder, and tried to resume the downloads. They resumed alright, but all at 0%. I had some really big files too.

Is there any way to restore them? If there is, I would like to know, thanks!

Well it doesn't look good. A system crash never is. Especially if your using windows(???).

Your data wasn't saved or may have been corrupted during the crash.

My best guess is try and run scandisk if your using windows. It might be able to fix what is missing.

Have a better day.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think scandisk fixed anything, because it runs right after a crash right? So, after my computer started up, all my downloads went to 0%.

Does anyone else have insight on this? I still have the incompleted files in my 'Incomplete' folder, and they are not at 0kb. Only the problem is, LimeWire doesn't recognize those. =/

incomplete downloads reset to 0

... been having same problem, (running Mac OSX), no crashes or other outward signs of problems, but when I quit program and start up again - all partial downloads are back to 0kb - how much does that suck?

Yeah, that sucks a lot. I just wish I could get my files back somehow.

If you had this problem before with the same game (which one is it) go to the game's homepage and look for a patch or possibly you may have to update your video card's driver. This may be a LimeWire forum but a LimeWire user needs help. Please don't delete this for being off subject.

The game is really not that important. I can live without it. :) Thanks for replying though.

in-complete nightmare

this is a problem within limewire and has nothing to do with any other software....your game may have caused the crash but it's limewire that has the problem.

I recon after some thought that the downloads.bac &.dat files r to blame... they must contain the information about how much and which packets (parts) of a file has been downloaded and which have not. maybe backing these files up would b the answer. then if u have a crash u could replace these files and hopefully all would b hunky dory....this is a really anoying trait of limewire...it's happened to me twice, this time with 6.5 gb of incomplete files and it has also affected loads of other folk as well...I hope that the boffins in the big limewire house are on the case. t'would b nice if it were fixed eh?
