Download Speeds is not good Download Speeds is not good I am using Windows XP SP2 on a Pentium 3 processor. I have LW4.8.1 pro. I have a 512Kbs connection. When I started using LimeWire months back I used to get speeds for up to 40Kb/s. Now I can only get a maximum speed of 2kb/s but even if on web I can reach high speeds. I have uninstalled LimeWire and reinstalled still no improvements. Deleting the preferences also does not improve teh speed. I have reinstalled Jave with no success. Lastly I have formatted my HD and reinstalled everything, still no improvements in the download speed. I have disabled frewall, anti-virus and IDS with no success. Has anyone experienced this problem and what have you done to solve? Thanks |
Everyone has been saying about d/l speeds recently, hope it all gets sorted |
I have exactly the same problem with McFly3. achieving speeds more than 5kbps is a difficulty lately. |
What version of LimeWire you are using? |
limewire 4.8.1 |
Me too. I hope it is not a problem with the lates LimeWire. |
same here...i'm dloading frm 7 hosts but my dload speed is hovering between 1 - 3 KB/s...my connection is 512...but dload is stil slow...someone pls help... |
Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire This can sometimes help to clear things by giving a fresh start. But then there's also the issue of isp providers ... if they detect you're using p2p they may filter your speeds. But then sometimes it's just luck. |
