Can't download .avi files

Whenever I try to download .avi files I can only get sound. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds like a codec issue: http://www.land.ee/d_nimo_codec.html or http://www.free-codecs.com/ or get a backup player with built in codecs & is free: VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site)

ok well I downloaded the codecs and they were working but I can't preview it while it's downloading. It just says that it needs one or more codecs

Either the video file has been poorly encoded & they didn't add the sound by accident or it's corrupt or your player isn't up to it. Try VLC, it plays most avi's out there.
