unable to restart downloads or uninstall

Limewire is shutting down on it's own. The message is "Limewire was unable to restart your downloads" whenever I restart it. When I bring the files from the incomplete folder, they start at zero %.
I've updated my java,
Windows 2000
256
2.8 ghz
Pent 4
limewire 4.8.0
cable internet

I've tried some of the other suggestions from this forum for this same prob, but none seem to work.
I can't even uninstall limewire. I get this message:
the installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete this could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download, or a virus You may want to contact the author of this installer..."
My old version of limewire had none of these probs. I also can't click and drag completed files to folders on this version.

I know it's a lot but would appreciate any comments
thankyou

Goto your configuration screen and click on software.
Try to uninstall Limewire there.
If that doesn't work I would just delete the folder where Limewire is installed.
Allso delete the .limewire folder under : documents and settings/your username

Download a fresh installer from www.limewire.com and re install

You don't want to run config
You have to open your CONFIGRURATION screen.
click start > settings > configuration screen > software
or
On desktop, open my computer, and open it from there
