Why is when I download movies of any decription, i.e., wmv., divx., avi I cannot view them. Everytime I load them all I get is some stupid picture in the middle of the screen, no message or anything. I have tried everything and am tired and thinking of giving up. Can anybody help please.

See
1. autogenerated spam results &

2. Movie download issues

3. Get xtra codecs such as http://www.land.ee/d_nimo_codec.html OR http://www.free-codecs.com/

4. And get a back up player such as vlc which is free & has built-in codecs: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site)

DOWNLOADING

When one has downloaded a avi, wma, divx movie file and its in your library, what do I do next. I have tried everything. If someone could email me with full instructions it would make my life more easier. Thanks

ie: the site that's nearest to you. I got mine from France but I live over the opposite side of the world. It really doesn't matter which site. They're all the same. A mirror site is simply a replication site so that heavy traffic can be handled.

LavenderBlue open your player with the newly installed codecs or open VLC & direct it to where your movie files are. Generally they're found here: C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared

Or else, within the LW Library window, select the Saved Files folder or Shared & then select the movie file to the right of it. Then press Launch button. You can also preview movies as they're downlding by selecting it in the downld window & pressing the Preview button. This will open up your video player. Be warned, everytime you preview a file, it will leave a preview file behind in the incomplete folder of that same size so this should later be deleted. Preview files can be recognised with a name like T34555-My home video.avi-Preview
