Ok, I've seen this several times. Many files I've chosen to download have stated they've got lots of locations, sometimes in the hundreds, most of the time about 80-90.

When I go to download them I don't even think I've seen Limewire connect to over 6 of them at once. I find this insane. I have all that choice and theres that many people not sending? Don't forget, I see this on practically every file with numerous sources...

And incidentally, all my other p2p programs work fine.

LW limits the number per file, probably so one fast malicious machine can't hog the file and disrupt the network.

Pro, IIRC, will allow you to download from two more connections.
