Limewire start up help

I am new to limewire. I just installed it and am using Windows XP. When I do a music search the icon spins around as if something is happening but nothing goes on. Am I missing something here? Do I need to connect up somewhere else. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers:D

Are there all green or blue connection quality bars at the bottom left of the LW screen? If not then you might be firewalled. See http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

Make sure your Java is up to date (try re-installing it) & perhaps even delete your LW preferences folder whilst LW is closed. See Fixes for Limewire: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420

You should wait 10-20 after opening LW before using.

I have one very small green bar and the rest are red. I just changed my firewall settings. Should I re-start LW?

Perhaps it might help. After opening LW give it some time to load its resources, incomplete & shared files & time to settle down.
