Make sure your firewalls are properly configured to allow LW full access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If false then there might be a firewall on computer or modem/router that's not properly configured.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

It always helps if you have people uplding from you. Some hints:
* After opening LW wait 10 to 20 mins before using. Let it settle down 1st.
* Also don't use the Resume button on all incomplete files. This can have side-fx such as affect LW's connection quality. This will also stress LW & your comp. If you use Resume/Find sources then just apply it to a couple or so at one time.

* A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.

SO your bug report is False which means you have some firewall issue or something else blocking your LW. Please answer ALL the above questions so we can help you further. ;)

Also try this port test & tell us what the TCP response is (type in 6346): http://home.no.net/tgrumpy/ct/

By the way I can't seem to find any info on your ISP. Not sure the name you gave me to be absolutely correct.

Are you using it at home or work?

How many other computers on the network?

shutgun420_23 May 2nd, 2005 09:55 AM

Results
TCP: The TCP connection has been refused, the port is closed. Either a firewall or a router has not been configured on this port, or no application is currently using it. Make sure your firewall or router is properly configured to not block or forward this port and that Shareaza is running and configured to use this port.
UDP: No answer has been received from your client. This can have various reasons, like that your firewall or router isn't properly configured for Shareaza, or Shareaza is not running on this port, or not connecting to the networks.
At least one problem has been detected and you probably have to configure your firewall or router for Shareaza. If you need help with configuring your firewall or router, visit this page on the wiki: FAQ: Routers/Firewalls.

So if port 6346 is blocked then it's either your isp or your network setup.

Please answer the questions from my previous post. And if possible those others from the earlier post.

You could go back to the test site & try out other port no.'s like those I suggested the other day in the earlier post.

shutgun420_23 May 2nd, 2005 10:27 AM

ok well

i called thay told me i am running off a gateway and there is roughly 165 comp on my network and the isp is apartmenthost.com and the number is 18887550445

fabion May 2nd, 2005 10:44 AM

Hmmm it looks as though your port 6346 is blocked/filtered. Do as LOTR has suggested.

Make sure your firewalls are configured for both TCP and UDP access for LimeWire. It needs both to operate correctly.

LOTR has given you links for the information to correct this problem provided your apartment building has not started filtering/blocking p2p applications or the apartment buildings ISP.

shutgun420_23 May 2nd, 2005 10:49 AM

o and i will take that candy bar whenever

no candy bar:eek:

Lord of the Rings May 2nd, 2005 11:08 AM

Did you do the port tests on alternative ports? If you can find one that works then you might just be still in business. You could try port 80 for example: http://home.no.net/tgrumpy/ct/

Another alternative is to try a proxy. See the Stickies in the Connections section of the forum.

shutgun420_23 May 2nd, 2005 12:48 PM

i have no good news

i tryed all differdnt numbers thay all didnt work but thanx for the help
