Did you configure your firewall to allow LW full access? Instructions: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If False then you have a firewall issue.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

Some tips:
After opening LW wait 10 to 20 mins before using. Let it settle down 1st.

A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.

Same Problem

I just installed LW and I have this same problem. I used the suggested methods of opening the PORT for Gnutella at 6346. Restarted LW, did the test and got FALSE.

I am wondering if I need to open that port on my router as well?

Now I can reach speeds of up to 25K/sec. I'm downloading right now from T1 connection. My info is as follows:
