are there fake or dummy movies? Hi, I'm having trouble downloading some movies, and I'm wondering if they can even be downloaded. For example, the search for "i, Robot" comes up with 100 hits but NONE of them can be downloaded. Isn't this strange--NONE out of 100? Are these real movies? I'm kinda suspicious because there's no numbers--automatic grouping--under the (#) sign. Like when you search for "Spiderman" there's tons of them grouped by mulitple users, say 34 (#) people have that same movie. These can be downloaded fine. But why not "i, Robot"? Anyone? Thanks for your help. |
I had a fake movie on Ocean´s Twelve which took a week to download thanks to the enormous downloadspeed of LM. It was a non interesting B movie. |
Yeah, Ocean's Twelve stunk--I actually rented it. But, at least you could download it. My problem is that some movies won't download AT ALL. I get only the "Need More Sources" message. But, again, this is fine when it happens to 10 of out 100 hits of that movie. How it can possibly happen to ALL 100 hits--the ENTIRE search of that particular movie? This is not suspicious, or bothersome, to anyone else? |
Movie Guys Dear Movie Guys You are having problems downloading movies because the MPAA pay certain companies to put fake movie files on P2P networks, the RIAA does exactly the same thing for popular songs. All you are doing is helping to flood the network with these fakes, which makes it harder for the rest of us trying to download other stuff. You would all be better off renting your films rather than trying to download them. UK Bob |
When attempting to D/L any file, first do a bitzi web lookup whick you will find when highlighting the file and right click. Bitzi may or may not have this file in the database, but when it does it may save you time and aggravation by NOT d/l and helping to spread fake files. File that have no users, no numbers are usually not viable. Look for the number. Even with a higher number of users d/ling a file will NOT insure it is correct.:D Don't Kick Holes In The Lifeboat! |
so... its maybe not the most intelligent idea to post here that you can't find film xy explizitly, since websites with user-accounts are forced to save your IPs. Let it be and of course don't steal films ;-) lg Linuxhippy |
Thanks Deacon, Finally, some one confirmed what was I trying to express. Oh, and thanks for the Bitzi tip--never even knew that existed. no longer bitter-- the green lime :) |
