When you close your Limewire (LW), make sure it's totally closed before you shut down your computer. Otherwise you risk corrupting your downld preferences. That's what it sounds like is happening. Other options are you've selected more than one title of the file you're after & the next time you open LW the other one starts instead.

To be on the safe side, try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

I made a mistake.. please help

Tools>Options>Saving

Is days to keep incomplete files set to 0

It was set for 7 days and when I came back after 15 days, the incompleted file was gone.

Fortunately I had stored the incomplete file in a different folder.
Is there is any way to continue the download from the point it was left.

Plz.. help me out. I have downloaded a 50mb of 70mb file and it has got cut. Worse I use dial up.

I can't explain how the days to keep incomplete setting change to zero, but you may be able to resume that incomplete file since you saved the folder. Try using 21 before you quit LW.

If the saved incomplete folder contains a "downloads.dat" file, just switch the saved and the current incomplete folder locations when LW is quit.

The next time Limewire starts, it will read the downloads.dat file which contains the index of all the incomplete pieces, and you should be able to resume the incomplete from the Library.

If the downloads.dat file that goes with the incomplete file is gone though, then the old incomplete cannot be resumed.

best wishes

hi
while i was using limewire i had a power cut for a couple of hours,
when the power came back i got some messages saying that the files
currently being downloaded are now corrupted and cannot be used! and
its now redoqnloading them from the begining (they were really big
files and i have been waiting for days for them to download!)

i checked the incomplete folder and files are still there but it seems
limewire will not continue from where it left off instead its
downloading everything from the begning
