Thanks again - must go set a few bones now so will check back in about nine hours or maybe a little sooner.

Hmm--the Shutdown works here on OSX (with both the Pro and the latest build)

Here's what I did

-selected a bunch of files from the "What's New" image type search

started downloading

QUIT limewire
--LW minimized to the doc, then a few minutes late the "Please wait while LimeWire Shuts Down" dialog showed up, and LimeWire quit properly.

However, one time there was a "need more sources" entry, and LW wouldn't quit until the entry was cleared from the download list and the incomplete folder.

Perhaps that is the case for you too?

Default How stupid can I get??

Stief ... It works - of course it works.

I couldn't put up with the wait so had a look at the forum from work & just had to take an hour off to try your latest advice.

When I read your latest reply I couldn't believe you would QUIT LimeWire - how could the download continue if you quit LW? Then the penny dropped.

Many many thanks Stief and before you throw your hands up in disgust and say "Women!!" I admit it, I'm the blonde one.

Cheers

V...

Glad it worked.

Thanks though for confirming. It looks like you helped point out a part that may be a problem, since most of us wouldn't expect a file that "needs more sources" would stop LW from shutting down after active transfers had completed.

Cheers
