Are you asking for a response? I thought you were just making a statement . . .

Oh well, as you know by reading all the posts about slow downloads, if it's not the sources, then it's probably a block in the setup--which is platform-and setup specific and needs very particular info .

btw--I think the program gets good download speeds from multiple hosts(when they are reliable). You can try the same file (free and legal) yourself from http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

Okay, I tried magnet...

And got a download connection betwenn 14-40kb.

I've got a 2mb broadband connection.

Is it just me, or are the connections I'm getting a little slow?

A 2 mbit connection should get you roughly 200KB/s downloads. As you can see, the servers for that magnet can deliver >300MB/s. They should have maxed out your download speed.

So yeah, it looks like your connections are being hampered somewhat.

You can get info about your usual web transfers from testing sites.

Try http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest if you are in North America. It will also get you comparisons with others using your ISP

Use the web transfer rates to compare with the magnetmix transfer rates. That will get you a web/gnutella comparison.

If there is too much of a difference, then your gnutella transfers are being hindered by something in your setup or ISP.
