Corrupt Files
 

I've already read like 11 pages on another topic on corrupt files but I still can't stop Limewire from saying everything I download is corrupt. I know so many people who have no problems so can somebody tell me how to stop these annoying messages saying everything's corrupt.

I'm using the latest version of Limewire, Windows XP, I have McAfee Internet Security Suite 2004.

If it isn't corrupt, it says something like ''queued position 2'' then I wait for 20 minutes and still nothing happens.

Be careful what you downld!!! Have a very careful look at the file before you choose it to downld. Not sure if this is the thread you were refering to but see THIS post (click on link)

QUEUED = your Limewire is too busy to handle that file. ie: advice is not to downld too many files at once. And don't use the Resume/Find Sources button on more than one or 2 files at one time.

Well most times I try to download something, it is always corrupt.
Example I was trying to download *****, I tried 10 different hosts and all of them were corrupt. I have my settings exactly the same as other people I know and it still comes up with corrupt file.

At the moment I'm trying to download some guitar lessons and having the same trouble

I wonder how many of you guys are running McAfee security. From the moment I installed it, EVERY file I tried to download was corrupt. I have just now uninstalled it, logged onto Limewire, PRESTO. No more corrupt files. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Good point Nobba! AV & some other anti-? utilities have been known to corrupt as have been some older routers/modems. If the issue is not the original file & its source then utility softw & equipment might need looking at.

i just started using limewire and i've been getting the same "corrupt file" pop-up for everything i download, and for a lot of them it ends up not working, but if i always say that i dont care and want to continue downloading sometimes it does work. something else i noticed is that if you start downloading it and you try to preview it and no preview plays, its probably not gonna play after its done downloading. thats what i've noticed anyways.

Ya I noticed the same problem with corrupt files, espcecially more recently. I think the problem may be that all the "T3 or higher" downloads are corrupt but my problem is that sometimes those are the only results I get, especially for more popular songs, but I know that there are def. cable/dsl users out there with the songs I want so how come they don't show up? Is there a way to block all T3 users because they NEVER work??

Hi guys. Sorry, but it WAS my McAfee security. 3 days on, I have downloaded over 1 gig in files, music, video and programmes, NO corruption. Check your security settings.

I've just set my mom's computer up with Lime Wire and am facing this problem.

She's running Avast, but that's it.

Not Mcafee Firewall or virusscan, only privacy service corrupts the files.

Sorry in case my reply wasn't clear, Mcafee privacy service is what is corrupting files!

Mcafee firewall + virusscan does not affect them.

As soon as I installed Privacy, all my files were coming up as corrupt, and now I have uninstalled it, limewire is okay.

I've gotten ten downloads fine....and I've had Macafee the entire time...but I can't get Jet Do You wanna be my girl or Ciara Goodies. So far...those are the only two I've had issues with...and I've tried to download every single one listed in my search box.

Reckon you may be right, Dayspring, but as I am a man of (very) little patience, the whole McAfee kit went out the window. It's been two weeks now, 20 bzillion files downloaded, not 1 corrupted!
