download problems changed computers, now have HP Media Center PC...previously all downloads automatically went into Musicmatch...currently, downloads seem to be dowmloadimg fine, but I can't find them anywhere...not in Musicmatch, iTunes, Media Center....have un-installed LimeWire and re-installed to no avail...and can't get LimeWire to answer...have LimeWire Pro 8.1 ...can manually transfer downloaded music to Musicmatch, but doesn't go there or seemingly anywhere automatically...actually would like downloads to go to Musicmatch or Media Center...help would be appreciated |
Are you sure that your files are Downloading? Go into Library tab at the top of the window, and click on the folder titled "Saved Files" this will show what you have downloaded and where they are saved "Path". Sounds silly, but have you specified a save folder for Limewire to use? If not, Go into the tools menu and options. Select Saving from the side list and set your save folder, either the default setting or set your own with the Browse button. Hope I have'nt rehashed to much that you already know, & hope it's of some use.:)Guy with similar problem Lord of the Rings can help |
yes, the files are downloading to the proper saved file...I do find the downloads in LimeWire library as you suggested...guess I'm being dumb in getting them into Musicmatch or Media Center automatically as they used to do without manually moving each seperate download ...thanks again |
download problems I really appreciate the responses I got from Krazy Rabbit, etc..but since I get nothing but smart *** responses from LimeWire, who refuses to accept the fact that my downloads DID originally go automatically to Musicmatch....and they don't offer ANY POSSIBLE solutions, I am cancelling my subscriptiom to LimeWire.....screw it, do they not think I can spend my money elsewhere!!!!! |
You should have cancelled your subscription a long, long time ago. You were scammed. Limewire is completely free. Go here : http://www.limewire.com and download the actual limewire client for free. I hope you are more careful in the future. |
LimeWire Pro was Pig Dog4 right? Did I get scammed into buying LimeWire Pro? I cannot get a straight answer from them. What other file sharing program would you sugeest? Or would you un-install Pro and re-install basic LimeWire? Help is appreciated! |
1 Attachment(s) Please stop posting new posts into different threads when they all belong to the same topic thread!!! You are warned! To find out if you really have LW pro, go to LW's menu Help>About LW... & it should say LW Pro (example below.) If not then you have the free version & were scammed by a scam site. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1 |
download problems thanks for the reply...yes I have LimeWire Pro...as far as posting new or old threads, how would I know....I am new to this forum, and unless someone explains things to me, how do I possibly know what the procedures are....I'm an intelligent man, relative novice to computers compared to some of you....I'm just trying to find an answer, and that seems to be beyong the realm of LimeWire or this forum, which I truly find hard to believe...oh, well, one last try....thanks |
I don't know if this will make any difference but make your Player/program you wish to import them into the default. Then go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Player & untick option box & press apply (changes won't take effect until next time you open LW.) Set your import location for your default program the LW downld folder just in case. If that doesn't work, perhaps make the LW downld folder the import location of your default audio app. Then shift select them to import so you'll import several at once. The only program I'm aware of that automatically imports songs thru LW is iTunes but that's only for Mac OSX. But people have told me WMP can do it for its playlist. I don't know how they achieve this. WMP can scan the entire comp anyway to search for songs if manually told to. |
By the way I just direct connected to you & downlded a song. You have a variety of audio formats. You're definitely a LW Pro user & set up quite well I'd suggest for me to DC with you so easily. ;) :) :p  |
