progress goes back to 0%

every time i close down Limewire and disconnect from the internet, the progress percent goes back to zero (only on movie downloads though), so when i open up limewire, i have to start from the begining again.

Do your downloads resume automatically when you restart LimeWire or do you have to search for the file again and start a new download?

i've had the same problem. it does resume by itself, but starts off at 0%.

To what value did you set:
Tools->Options->Saving->Days To Keep Incomplete files

john_p12 July 9th, 2005 12:46 PM

it was set to 1486618625. i think it's more of an issue with videos, i dunno.. most files are completed before i close LimeWire, exept videos, so i can't confirm this, right now. i think it was mentioned in a previous post.

thanks for your help.

Doesn't sound healthy. Normally that type of thing will happen if you don't close LW down properly before you shutdown your comp, or you have a system crash. Remember LW can take up to a minute or so (perhaps longer) before it closes down properly. Might I suggest you close LW down at least 5 mins or perhaps 10 mins before shutting down your comp. Try that & see if it helps. I know when I run my windows it runs very slowly & LW takes considerable time (longer than anybody else to close down properly! lol :D) That's b/c I run my windows on a mac via a special program.

One way you can check LW's closed down properly is to control-alt-delete & open the task manager & ensure there's no limewire listed on the list of active programs. If it is then you can either wait or kill the process. Tell us if you find it is still listed several mins after closing LW.

Failing the above, if it still doesn't make any difference, then try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire & upon resetting your LW option settings when you restart it, set the days to keep incompletes to 999. ;)

alright, thank you !

LW actually closes almost instantly, though (from taskmanager).

i'll try re-installing it to get the defaults, i changed a few settings and directories as i was downloading, i guess messing with the incomplete folder while downloading doesn't help. i'll give ya an update if i can fix it.
