Help!!!! Burning movies to CD

Help!!

I seen on the site somewhere that you can download dvd movies to a cd and play them. I've tried this and my dvd players want play them. I only have a cd writer on my computer and I was wondering was I doing something wrong or did I just read something wrong and you can't do this. I also thought about buying blank dvd's and see if I could burn them with my cd writer, but didn't know if this was possible.

cd burners can only burn cd-r's & possibly cd-rw's. But cannot burn dvd-r's!!! "Most" dvd burners can burn both cd's & dvd's. If you wish to burn a video to cd, then visit these sites: 1. http://www.videohelp.com/ & 2. http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-an...r%20own%20VCDs & 3. http://www.cdfreaks.com/ & http://www.cdfreaks.com/search

Help! Movie to big for CD

I finally figured out how to download and run through TMPGEnc and after it was encoded the file is to large for the CD. How do I download it to the CD? can I compress it or do I need to try another movie to download??? I really like the one I have. Please help!!!!!

TMPGEnc should probably give the option of output size when you encode it. I don't know but I'm guessing it should. If not, you should re-encode the original at a lower quality or bit-rate. If it is just over 700 MB, then 'some' burners & burner programs will allow overburning which allows a little xtra to be burnt. But it's not always recommended. And not all set top players might be able to read the last part.

Go to http://www.videohelp.com/ & they also have a forum.

A program like TMPGenc or Nero or Roxio will normally do the job.

TMPGEnc problem!!

I finally encoded the movie on TMPGEnc and after I did I sent it to my burnlist and when I tried to burn it it told me that the file was to big for the cd. How do i compress the file so that it will fit on the cd or did I do something wrong?
