Strange Movie download problem I have been downloading movies from lw pro, i have downloaded more than a few movies, but i have been facing a strange problem with one of the movies i have downloaded. I have been downloading a movie 700 mbs [avi] in size. i downloaded about 250 mbs or 1/3 of the movie in a single session which i previewed after pausing the download and the movie clip was about 25 minutes long. now the movie has been downloaded to about 50%. when i pause and preview for the file it generates around 350mb long movie file, which according to my assumption should last 35 mimutes or so, but it doesn't. it lasts only 25 minutes and stops playing after that. I even tried to exit lw and play the file norwal way by using all the media players i have, but the results havnt changed it still only lasts 25 minutes and not a second more!! What could be the problem, is it the file which is damaged, i can see a lot of people sharing this file? |
Yep I've noticed the same thing. It can happen. I don't think it's necessarily a problem though. After completing downlding they played find from A->Z. I've also noticed sometimes movies show in the incomplete folder as 700 MB when only 30% or so has been downlded. I don't know if that's a system thing or that they are avi files which are like a shell. So it downlds this shell which is so long is size but, continueing the downlding fills in the gaps from point b to y. Just a guess. I'm also curious why these types of things happen. |
I actually started downloading this movie long time back, the same kind of problem came up, the only diffrence was that the movie stopped after 13 or so mimutes while previewing a 300mb file. so i stopped the download and removed the file from my hd and started afresh. I thought that perhaps the file on my hd got corrupted somehow. I know that lw verifies each file after being downloaded so should i wait for download to get to 100% and wait for the verification or should i just stop the download and move on?? |
I would continue it. If there was no issue with quality of file during previews then it should be fine (fingers crossed.) Why it stopped downlding I don't know. Either luck or it was using a lot of system resources & affected LW. But it should be fine. As I said above, the movies this has happened to for me were fine. I suspect it's probably more to do with the type of avi file perhaps. |
I HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THAT B4. I PREVIEWED THE FILE WHEN IT WAS LIKE 40% DONE, THEN IT ONLY SHOWED ME 15MINS OR SO THEN STOPPED. SO THEN I W8ED TILL IT FINISHED D/LING AND STILL ONLY GOT THE 15MINS I HAD B4. SO I THEN JUST DELETED THE FILE AND QUIT TRYING TO D/L THAT MOVIE. DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. MR. CAPS MAN OK LOVE YA, BYE BYE |
