Help With dling

This has probobly been asked and answered but i didn't find naything to help me when i looked.

1. I have used limewire succesfully for months.

2. One day it just stopped, uploading on limwire slowed and i noticed something:

- I can dl, if i keep refreshing (pause and resume) every second, i left it on for a few hours and only 1 download moved the rest stayed as they were, some said: downloading from (1-10) hosts.

Is thier anyway to dl without keep refreshing.

-windows xp - sp2
- limewire (newest, i forgot) pro
i had the problem before i got pro and that why i got it thinking it mught be the software, but it wasn't. I can't figure out why.

Sounds like an odd problem. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

ALso see the following link & follow all the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills to solve your problem: To continue files downlding (click on link)

will this delete my current dls, cause i'm dling about 100 files, only afew at a time because it's better that way, i think. Will this delete em and have me searching again?

I'm having the exact same problem!!!

Either one of two things may have caused it for me:

1. I downloaded SoulSeek and Shareaza, and when I went back to Limewire I noticed this issue. So maybe something in those programs caused it???

2. Also, this is the first time I am connecting to Limewire direct connect and not through my router, and I am noticing this. As odd as it may sound, maybe my router fixes the issue??? BTW I have a USB ethernet port and not a built in one, so MAYBE in some outside way that explains why I am having less problems with my router than without???

Either way, pausing and resuming seems to work for now.

Just powered down my computer, router, and modem and it works like a charm again. Don't ask me why it has less issues with a router than without, but what I do know is that my network setup is probably one of the worst possible for a P2P. In fact, Limewire is about the only P2P program that works without issue on it.

Anyways, try powering down your computer, modem, router, etc. When starting up again, go from the jack out (modem->router->pc)

Deleting the main LW preferences won't have any effect upon your incomplete downlds. :)

thanx for the help, if u find any fix other then to keep pause/resume, please post it :), i wonder what the problem is.....

You preview a lot of files. Do you make sure you delete the preview files out of the incomplete folder? These files are called PREVIEW-xxx.avi, etc. They can take up considerable space. So deleting these will free up space. Probably worth defragmenting your Hard Disk Drive after doing this. A fragmented HDD or/& one that's running short of space can slow the system down.

You 'might' also consider this: Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue!
