unable to render video

New to limewire and p2p ,when I try to download a dvd movie and try to view it Iget a message saying

unable to render video DIV 3 decompressor not found

Any advice would be helpful, thank you.

Never heard of div 3 or mpeg 3. Perhaps it refered to DivX version 3. If you're only playing back then I'd suggest VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site)

Whereas if you're looking for codecs see: CODECs list for Movies

Thanks LOTR,

I downloaded videolan this afternoon, it is now on my desktop, should it automatically kick in when i try to playback the movie or do i have to open it up before i enter lime wire library ?

It depends upon which files you want it to play. If you want it to only play avi & mpg files then make it the default for those files. See Setting Default video app
