I never had this prob,,untill now~~ when Im in the prosec of downloading,,I use to be able to click on "Preview" & could hear or see the file...NOW,,I CANT do that!
What is the deal?

to be completely honest, i personally think there are bugs in the newest limewire released. I have personally had lots of problems with it. goto www.oldversions.com (this may get edited by the mod, so if so the goto yahoo and search for "limewire old version" and download it and use it.

Don't you see the Preview button at the bottom of the downld section of the search page. In order to preview, you must have downlded at least some % of the file. You can ONLY preview as much as you've downlded!!! If your player isn't working then get xtra codecs or VLC. See the Sticky thread at the top of this section for details.

BTW an old obsolete version of LW will not do you any good. I'm not sure that link even provides genuine LW versions but they may contain viruses/spyware/diallers, etc. Also, many other gnutella clients ban the earlier versions of LW connecting to them.

LOTR....Even when my download is completly finished,,I STILL cant preview it...

Im not sure what you mean by codecs..I have g-spot already, but isnt that for the Finished product? I mean when you are ready to burn a disk?

I would just like to preview at 60%.
Can you recomend a codec name,,,i read the sticky thread & there are soo many~

these older versions are legitimate versions and do allow access to the other gnutella clients. Newer is not always better, especially with the newest LW that was released. Not only from personal experience but also from complaints by other individuals, it has become very apparent that the newest version is far from perfect.
