Have yet to share a file

Since installing Limewire on my new laptop about 8 weeks ago, there has yet to be a file uploaded from me. I'm certainly not new to this and have never had a problem sharing before. All systems seem ready to go yet no sharing. I realize it's possible nobody wants my shite but I'm thinking I'm missing something. Anyone have any ideas?

what folder are you sharing? and what type of files? You can go to your Limewire settings and add shared folders. are you behind a firewall? Do you have your settings set on share? What version of Limewire are you using?

Those are all the easy questions... yes, I have everything set to share. I'm sharing zips, mp3's, wma's, the usual. I've got ver. 4.8.1 on this pc. I'm working off wireless which is a new area for me but everything else is the same I've always dealt with...ie. zone alarm I do not use XP's firewall.

Are you sure you have not shared any files. If you go to the monitor window, you may only see current downloads taking place. Options/uploads/basic has a box to tick if you want to auto-clear completed uploads uncheck it.

Also go to Limewire's library and check if any shared files are showing hits, after about an hour of LW running most of them should show at least one hit. If they all show zero, you have a problem.

These are my even simpler questions :)

Yep did all that. Sheesh can these questions get any easier??:D

I even went as far as to let all the freeloaders across the internet take 'em.

I'm getting hits, but no uploads, that's why I thought there has got to be something preventing them. I mean c'mon out of 400 + files there's gotta be something there someone wants.

Just doesn't seem right.

Let's see if there's anything partially blocking people's attempts to upload from you. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If false then you may not have configured your firewall or else, you have a modem/router that uses a NAT firewall.

tooo easy I guess.

I didn't go back and check after I unticked the auto clear. Now I have, at this very moment I have 3 listed. 2 interrupted and 1 uploading. So it appears they are getting out but I still don't have any completed. Is that normal?
:D

You might not be the only person they are uploading the same file from.

If there's any interupted then it could be due to various factors. Particularly if you're not properly configured. But they might have just gone offline or they lost their connection with you.

Well yeah, that part I get. But is it not unsual to never have a completed upload?

BTW....thanks for all these quick responses. You guys are fast ;)

Thanks again gang. I won't fret anymore about it.
