 Help Me Please My Internet Connection is 1.1Mb/s But LimeWire Only Downloads at 123.7Kb/S even On 100% Bandwidth.....Why?  |

| ISP's advertise their speed in bps whereas LW shows speeds as KB/s ie: bps = bits per second B/s = Bytes per second 8 bits = 1 byte So divide your isp speed by 8 & subtract between 13-20% overhead loss depending on how far you are from the provider or exchange. So 1.1 Mbps divided by 8 is 137.5 KB/s minus overhead gives you about what you are getting. The speeds you get in LW depend upon your sources. |
