Bit Rate Hello everyone, Why is it that LimeWire has very few songs available to download at 320 Kbps? |
because the users dont serve up those kinds of files? its not limewire, its the users. do you even know the concept of p2p? there is no central server, there is no one entity that controls, endorses, or monitors the gnutella network (the network which LW was created to connect to.) the network is run by its users. |
Thanks for the reply, but I don't see your point. Yes I DO know the concept of P2P, and yes I know the site is run by the people, but how does that stop people from offering higher quality songs for download? I have many files that people can download from me that are 320Kbps |
I have a LOT of music files on my computer. By and large I ensure that I have none over 192, although one or two I have at higher rates are totally exceptional recordings, and most of the music I listen to really does not warrant a high bit rate as the recordings are less than perfect most of the time. If all my files were 320, I should need a new computer. I have yet to be convinced that there is any need for a greater bit rate than 192, 256 tops, unless you are using extraordinarily expensive hi-fi equipment, in which case I would have thought CDs, Lossless files, or even good old vinyl would be what you should play to get the best from it. + it takes twice as long to download a 320 file than a 160, thats what I feel anyway. |
what "site"? i also agree with Hobo, if i downloaded and ripped only 320bit mp3's, i wouldnt have such a large library like i do now, i wouldnt have enough room for it. |
