Coming up with very weird search results (videos)

Does anybody have this problem?

The past week everytime I try to search ANY video (par example; '****') I come with the right result AND some weird wmv.-files like 'teenager gives sexy *******...', 'lusty 19-year old...', 'watch me **** teenager...', 'smoking teenager slut ******' and a whole other search results which are completely Irrelevant with the name I was looking for.

Everytime I do a video search these files keep coming and are added to my search list. Does anybody else have this problem?

par example; 'cypess hill' or 'family guy'

Yes, I've had this problem with every video search I've performed recently. These things weren't so bad to begin with, but they now completely fill the search horizon . The result is that you get nothing but spam results, and the search is over before you find what you want.

For example, I searched for a video earlier and got 190 search results - that was fine, except that only one of them had any relevance to what I'd searched for. The rest didn't even feature my search query in the title, and they didn't have any additional info that appears when hovering the pointer over the file name.

It used to be that you'd only get a few spam results that featured the query you'd searched for, and then the real files; now it seems the spamming *******s have found a way to send a couple of hundred spam results regardless of what your query was. I have the newest free version of LimeWire, and someone I know has confirmed that it's the same with LimeWire Pro, which I believe is also the newest version.

This could all be stopped with the inclusion of a filesize filter of some kind, even a basic 'only show files larger than X MB' would work, no need for anything complicated. As it stands, the LimeWire network is being strangled by spamming assholes, and LimeWire Pro will become a thing of the past; No-one is going to want to pay for a program that does little besides spam them.

Sound advice, Sphinx - I always look at the filesize and extension, as well as the number of sources and the speed of the connection. Those simple measures have prevented me from downloading hundreds of worthless files in the past, and it's almost second nature to look at them now.

The trouble with this situation is that virtually ALL of the results coming back are spam - the search is completely taken up by spam results, and the search ends before it finds any real files. Searching again gives the same result, even when connected to a different ultrapeer.

I've had some limited success with the advice given in another thread on these forums; namely right-clicking on a spam result and selecting the 'Block Host' option, but that's only so effective against those annoying little 104.8 KB (and similar sized) files, which seem to come from dozens upon dozens of different hosts. I've been blocking spam hosts for a full hour so far, and although I'm now getting a small number of seemingly genuine files, I'm still getting large amounts of spam results that stop the search prematurely. A filesize filter would be a lot quicker for users to set up, and probably a lot more effective too.

I can only hope that someone is putting together a PeerGuardian blocklist for these IPs - that seems like the only alternative until LimeWire includes a filesize filter.

Oh, and just for the record - I have never downloaded copyrighted movies from LimeWire or any other P2P; in my opinion, it's not worth the risks just to see a mediocre film with crappy picture quality, muffled sound, and the silhouette of some guy standing up and scratching his *** halfway through the movie. I look for things like cartoons that aren't available on video or DVD (like the ones that were banned from being aired on TV for various reasons) and amateur films like the ones seen on RantTV and other internet TV stations. That means that the filesizes can be anything from 50 to 200 megs, but they're still easily distinguishable from the myriad porn clips and film trailers because they're a lot smaller than what I look for.

Yeah, I think it's an issue with the integrity / honesty of the LimeWire search - thee are always 2 files in any search - an mpeg and a jpeg, the free iPod thing, the video is around 300kb, so are the new ones that are poppin up.

I've found that blocking hosts that generate those fake porn spam helps a lot.
I mainly block 2 hosts: 70.85.*.* and 70.86.*.*
just got to filters>host and enter these in.
u might have to add more as required.
