Resuming downloads

Ever since i upgrade from 4.8.1 a strange thing appens

I use LW from my office
My connection is only free from 9am to 9pm
Every night i must disconnect LW
Every day the progress D/L of big files .avi or .mpg is reseted to lower value than the previous day
While i use 4.9.11 the reset was random
In 4.9.23 allways reset to 2%
After D/L restarts i have allways the message "file corrupt"

Anyone with the same problem??

Stupid question: are you sure that you're connected to the internet when downloading?

...kleim August 18th, 2005 06:19 AM

:) stupid enough ;)

but...
i dont connect automatic in startup!!
D/L start even before i connect unless i previously cancel all D/L
anyway i do allways reset to 2% (only avi & mpeg and not all of them)
Allways since upgrade from 4.8.1

Personally, I think the Limewire resume, never worked. and you do have to rely on the other user for downloading speeds. when Im in Limewire, I simply delete the download and try to start again. If it still doesnt work then I switch to Bearshare. ;)

That behaviour sounds very odd! It's almost as though you have corrupt preferences or something. If your downlds were going to lose their progress, then normally if there was an issue it would be reset to zero. And that only happens if your comp crashed or you didn't close LW properly before you shutdown the comp. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

The issue couldn't have something to do with the office backup system could it? Do you log into the exact same terminal or comp everyday do you?

i use win2k
i wil try to delete .limewire
hope gets better

tks

sorry, hate to tell you Lord of the rings, the Limewire resume function never worked. and Ive used Limewire for a long time. and I'll be damed if I can get a resume going after loosing a connection and Im on cable. Actually, its always a good idea to download bearshare lite for backup. ;)

Perhaps it doesn't work for you Sphinx but it works for other people! And I'm not sure about you recommending a now defunct p2p sharing program. But I guess you can only speak from your own limited experiences. I've been using LW for about 4 yrs (since LW version 2.) So exactly how long have you been using it? If you call 6-12 mths a long time well ...

maybe limewire resume works on other people
but on some it does not! it may be a bugs that needed to be
fix!

limewire needs to fix it because its a great dis appointment
when your downloading for 3days at 99% then suddenly lime wire
cant restart your download and its needed to be restarted and go back to 0%
