Confusion Hi, There: Forgive this old fella if he makes a few fau pas. But I joined the organisation yesterday. In order to learn something I have been trying to download the user guide. It won't play. Can anyone tell me how I can get hold of basic info? I'm already worried stiff by the fact that every time I click on a tune I want to add to my library, I'm told that no Licence exists for it, and that Limewire does not have control of the gnutella set-up. I thought we were all safe from the law on this site...! Cheers, Pedlar

Laugh Out Loud! Apparently the PDF doesn't always downld properly. I had that problem. Instead, downld the zip version of the manual. License refers to files that might be copyright. (Ultracross, pedlar spelt it the same way I do lol :D) So if you decide to downld it, you take the legal risks upon yourself. No it is not legal to downld copyright material if the artists, etc. are not being paid for it. And the files are not downlded from this site or any site, they are downlded from other people like you who are sharing the files. |
Lord of The Rings: Thanks for the info. Starting to get the picture. Just wish that before registration we weren't told that there is unlimited download with no legality risks...!! With regards, pedlar |

No More Confusion...! Lord of The Rings: Thanks for the extra info. I went to the other postings and see your point. Seems that a few others have been scammed recently. There's no doubt about the scam - especially when you see the difference between the $34 charge by the scammer and the $18 fee from the official site for 'extras' offered. Don't usually do any dealings on the net, but since my son bought me the iPOD, and I love the swing music of the Twenties and Thirties, I fell for it...! I used my debit card so I don't think I'll have any success cancelling the transaction. I'll cost it as being the charge for the big lesson I've just learned... What do you suggest, now? Do I have to join the 'official' site? Cheers, pedlar  |
Lesson Learned Pedlar Sorry that you got scammed but you may still be able to get your money back if you dispute the charges with your bank. Especially if you tell them that you fell victim to one of the hundred plus scam sites, on the internet, that's solely there to part the naive, first time internet user, from their money and give nothing in return. I'm sure that if you try your bank, as 30 days has not passed since you paid the scam site, you will get a refund. Good Luck UK Bob |
