enable your multicast ok many of you already heard about multicast, now you can enable your network to receive and send multicast packets. Majority of isp has multicast turned off, the solution is here. why and how? well multicast saves bandwith by sending the file only once to everyone thats listening, maybe schedualing file broadcast and everybody gotta tune in or schedual their download to start automatically. anyway all you need is a daemon called pseudo router, developed by belgian university belnet. download here http://www.castgate.net |
um, wtf does this have to do with [download/upload problems] problems? this sounds WAY too much like a spam posting. [brackets denote edit] |
are you stupid? this solution solves multicast connection problem, shut up when you dont have a clue about the issue.:o  |
1) sure, but not until you can backup this kind of protocol with some facts, knowledge and information. 2) multicast does not solve any problems with any gnutella p2p related activities. if this kind of protocol was implemented, it would destroy the network by bandwidth over-usage. this would also destroy the integrity, value and legality of the network. since anyone can broadcast anything to any network segment/subnet. but, if only certain hosts were allowed to broadcast data into their own subnets, that would be fine, but this wouldnt be p2p. this would be a server->client architecture instead of the p2p model servent/client->servent/client. you are implying that im stupid, did you research this first? who feels more stupid. hint, not i. i know im ignorant because i atleast know that i do not know everything and there is always something else to learn, and im always wanting to find out more. this is not stupidity, but ignorance. im not very ignorant with p2p though :) |
arrrggg, its not native multicast. the pseudo router software works as a tunnel, it forwards request tru the tunnel , tunnels are controlled by internet organisation. you can run stuff on your local network not on your isp subnet, the tunnels connects your local network to multicast islands. multicast is better at saving bandwith usage, only send the file once to who is listening it, not everyone. |
and sooooo.......... what does this have to do with limewire's p2p application and the gnutella network in general? or detail, whatever.. are you talking about creating vlan's or vpn's? or is this sort of feature request? |
