Unable to download

Using high speed connection but cannot seem to download anything because I keep receiving the message "awaiting sources" or "need more sources". I have used help and emailed tech support. Can anyone provide assistance on how to get around this and obtain successful downloads?

are you directly plugged into your high speed connection's modem or are you connected to a router?

stephanie2x August 26th, 2005 11:09 AM

Both. It's a combined modem & router

what peer to peer client are you using?

I can download music fine but movies won't download. I'm using windows xp and everything else seems to be working okay. Could it possibly be my dsl router?

Maybe, sounds like somethings blocking your connection. What it is is that P2P is an open network. You might have to try to adjust some settings. Have your read the sticky notes posted by Lord Of The Rings???? Maybe it can help you??? I am connected to a hub and have an always on connection. I have had not problems connecting & dling. XP firewall could be blocking you too. I use XP Home Edition and sometimes have to turn off my firewall but there is supposed to be a way around that. You cant dl movie files??

I use xp home also. More than likely it's a firewall problem I'm having.

Some of the hard to get movies are from other clients such as Shareaza. They can be very difficult to connect to or reconnect to. You might be waiting weeks or months before you can reconnect to the particular host. All i can really suggest is try for those videos from LW users that are sharing. (BTW you can see who [the particular client] has the file by right-clicking the very top of the column & choose show Vendor/version from the menu that shows.) Other than that, see the following link & follow all the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills to help solve your problem: To continue files downlding (click on link)

Great. Thank you SO much...both of you. I have made the change to the firewall and I will only download from LW members
