I hope I'm writing in the right place.

My question is: can people upload my files if L/W is not on...but the internet is?

No.

........... but............ if you have been using LW and it is set to disconnect after transfers, you may still get quite a number of uploads after you select disconnect, and these may continue until you have LW completely closed .......I beleive "not in the system tray" is the Windo$e term for it
