songs sticking/skipping when searching or downloading

I just upgraded to 4.9 now when I enqueue my music and play it if I search for or download something my music skips and sticks. even if I go to another website while listening through Limewire it does the same thing. so far I'm not seeing this as an upgrade, this is pretty bad and annoying as hell. anyone have the same problem or any ideas of what to do.
thanks everyone!

Hm mmm you are not alone it seems. The limewire player has always been a bit crap, and it is apparent to me that it has got worse. I stopped using it ages ago by going to options or preferences/player and switching it off. and using iTunes, but you can use what you like. I reckon LW is a really fine application ..... apart from the player.

I hope this helps

LimeWire player... ICK!

Avoid the Limewire player. It's baaad.

I too shut off the Limewire player looong ago. I had downloaded and deleted several files that would not play or just sounded horrid before I decided to start testing them with other programs. For quick loading and ease of use, I actually use RealPlayer to play most of my downloads. It seems to give me pretty good results, playing files that Limewire and Media Player wouldn't touch.

how do I switch to use realplayer as my default player? I don't wanna use windows media player either. but I'm not real computer savvy so i couldn't figure out how to NOT use the limewire player. thanks everyone!

go to preferences or options > player and uncheck the box. Then in Mac you select a file with openWITH and you can chose whether or not to use your chosen application as the default ...Windows is probably similar .. must rush ask if it's not clear
