I am afraid you have been conned into paying for a free application.

Limewire basic is free pro costs $18.88 for a six month supply of e-mail support and pro upgrades.,

THis is the web site to download from, http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

This is one of many long threads showing that you are not alone, and you should read a bit of it. at least

It may be that your limewire is a damaged one which is possibly why you are having problems.

I advise you to try to get your money back, and also to do a complete fresh install of the latest Limewire basic from the limewire site at the link I gave you. after uninstalling/deleting all prefferences etc along with the application.
