hi! I just downloaded the newest limwire 4.9 something or other ( free one) and everything seems to be working fine ( connected)
but my searches only come up with one or two file names, and most come back empty. I realize some files are rare, but I'm searching for mostly new and popluar music files.
I am running windows XP with Zone alarm. i tried turning off ZA, but I'm still encountering the same problem. what am I doing wrong?

I should also mention I'm Uni student in a dorm room if that means anything.

Could be quite important. Ask around the res if anyone else is getting good results, and see what they are doing. IF you get a chance to chat nicely with one of the network admins at your university res, ask about the latest residence policy on filesharing.

btw--if the few search results are in blue stars (ethernet transfers), those will come from others in the dorm on the same network and you should get amazing speeds for them.
