I'm not exactly sure of the details of what happens, but in options or preferences you will find bug reports. I was getting quite a few at one time as I had selected "always ask for a review" I never found any problem, but the bug report went off to Limewire and somehow, I imagine they picked up on something and cleared it up.
As you have selected Discard, I guess the report is not getting back, so my first thought is to select either send imediately, or always ask for a review (and then send the report).

This might help ... if not give us some more details of your set up,platform OS LW version etc. and any changes you might have made to your system just before this happened.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "connect to my old downloads" perhaps you could clarify that too.
